I have to say, it was quite impromptu when my neighbor told me that he'd like to go to Japantag at Düsseldorf. But he told me that he'd like to take me along, and to not worry for the costs, he'd pay for them. It was quite nice of him, especially because he got me some stuff instead of giving away all of his money and there's me just watching him. I mean, if I had the money myself I could've done it too but hell, at the moment i really have a low budget until the end of the month, so the imagination to go to Düsseldorf was really low. But I have to thank my neighbor for being so nice and taking me along; it was really nice.
I had a lot of issues due to my cosplay. I'd rather have gone as Hinata Shouyou (Haikyuu!!) but the imagination of going there along without a Kageyama would be sad, and finding an alone Kageyama would be really hard for me. So I decided to make Casual!Matoi Ryuko (Kill la Kill), because nobody would hook me up on that, and since it was spontaneous, I couldn't prepare a proper cosplay.
I had to get up at like 5am to prepare myself. We left the apartment late so that we weren't able to get a bus. So we took a cab to get the train to Cologne and then another train to Düsseldorf. I have to admit: More than three hours of train are the last of me; I forgot my 3DS so I had to waste my phone battery, and the phone battery goes low very fast.
The place got full very fast and we had our issues to go through some booths. I was brave enough not to freak out though since I suffer from anxiety issues and I'd freak out if there'd be too many people at one spot.
But honest to god, I was happy to meet a lot of friends there, and it felt really good to have met people for the first time. It was really funny and at the end I was happy to be home. I was really exhausted and tired, and I had to take off my wig sometime because my head was hurting. Of course I could've take it back on, but since we wanted to go back soon, I decided not to.
I got a Hinagarasu plush and a small Yamaguchi-pendant, both paid by my neighbor.
We returned home at 10pm, and it kinda was a nice experience since I usually would spend the night at Düsseldorf and then return home the day after.
I might post some photos later, I haven't made some by myself but some of my friends did.
